BPI CERTIFICATION COURSES
BPI certifications are the industry standard for building science and energy efficiency professionals. These credentials are required by most state Home Energy Rebate programs and utility incentive programs. HVAC U offers the full suite of BPI certifications with a 98% exam pass rate.
BPI AC/Heat Pump Professional Certification
The BPI AC/Heat Pump Professional certification covers the advanced operation, maintenance, and optimization of air conditioning and heat pump systems.
BPI Building Analyst Professional Certification (BA-P)

BPI Building Analyst Technician Certification (BA-T)
The BA-T is one of the three core credentials required by most state energy rebate programs. This course prepares technicians to perform whole-home energy assessments, identify performance issues, and document findings in order to compare them to program standards.
BPI Energy Professional All-in-One Certification Package
A bundled pathway covering all three above core BPI credentials is required to qualify for state and utility energy programs. Designed for contractors who want to get their team program-approved efficiently, without managing multiple course enrollments separately.
BPI Heating Professional Certification
Covers the assessment and verification of residential heating systems, including combustion safety testing, heat loss calculations, and equipment performance standards.
BPI Energy Auditor Certification (HEP/EA)
Qualifies professionals to conduct comprehensive home energy audits under the BPI Home Energy Professional standards.
BPI HEP Quality Control Inspector Certification (QCI)
